Trail Running to Crater Lake
On Saturday I did a quick trail run to Crater Lake in the Wenimuche Wilderness. The run started from near Molas Pass north of Durango and went for about 5.5 miles up to a beautiful lake at the base of the Twilight Peaks. I'd gone backpacking there and camped at the lake several years ago when we lived in Albuquerque so it was fun to revisit somewhere that I had vague memories of. It was a great running trail - never too steep with a net gain of about a 1000 ft and not very many steep sections.
