Soccer Season Begins

Saturday was the first day of soccer season and the boys had their first games while I was up running Imogene.  This is Alex's first time playing, while it is Jacob's second season after taking a year off.

Jacob's game was first and went great.  He's on a team of first graders from his elementary school, so he has lots of friends on the team.  Jacob is pretty non-chalant about soccer and isn't very competitive, though.  At their second practice this week, he kept asking the coach if practice was almost over.

Jacob scored a goal!

Alex's game was next and went well, too.  Alex was a goal scoring machine and Nicole lost count of how many he scored.  You'll notice how much bigger Alex is than the other kids - he's bigger than a lot of the kids in Jacob's first grade class and this is a preschool team, so he's got a big physical advantage.  Additionally, Alex is hyper-competitive and really motivated to win at anything he does.  We're going to have to teach him  to pass and get some assists.
