Alex has been talking about going skiing on his birthday for months, so he and I went and skied for a couple of hours at Purgatory. It was a Friday and the older kids were in school, so there weren't very many people up there at all. We had a good time "racing" down the cruisers.
After skiing we went home and opened presents. Alex got a real guitar and a new Star Wars game for his DS from Nicole and I. Jacob gave Alex a pack of Silly Bandz.
You'll note that Alex is wearing shorts, even to dinner. No, it isn't that warm in Durango. He just "doesn't like to be hot".
We capped off the day by going out to dinner at Steamworks Brewery. The boys both really like Steamworks becuase they give you chalk and let you draw pictures on the floor. Mom & Dad like Steamworks because it is noisy and the kids can be as loud as they want without disturbing anyone (plus Dad thinks they have good beer).
